A very decent ,non hurting or non criticizing , readable book on the whole. Firstly must give full marks to Translator mrs Uma Kulkarni. Umaji while translating ( Marathi) always captures exact mood and essence expressed by the author without deviation. Characters in the book are like 8 notes of octave , varied and typically eccentric . Each has its own strength. But they behave or react in most predictable manner , in same manner required by the author. The reading definitely entertains the reader but i feel is relevant only to those readers who have experienced village life and that too in karnataka. Otherwise however close to factual person the observation at times appears fictitious arranged for description or situation.But good look up of village life in karnataka .Thanks Sudhaji for a good book.
