काहीसे वेगळेच वाटणारे हे शीर्षक वाचून उत्सुकता जागृत होते. त्यातही लेखिका प्रतिभा रानडे यांचे नाव पुस्तकावर पाहिल्यावर नक्कीच काही खास असणार असे वाटते आणि खरेचच विशेष वाचल्याचा आनंद मिळतो.

महाभारतातील नल-दमयंतीची कथा खूप लोकप्रिय आहे. मात्र हा नळ राजा उत्तम स्वयंपाक करीत असे, हे खूप कमी वाचकांना माहित असेल. नल राजाची पाककला ही त्यावेळच्या संस्कृतीशी, समाजाशी जोडली गेली होती. मात्र या कलेचा आनंद म्हणजे त्याने सांगितलेले पदार्थ चाखण्यातील मौज आजही अनुभवता येऊ शकते.

नल राजाने सांगितलेल्या पाककृती या पुस्तकात एकत्रित दिल्या आहेत. शाकाहारी आणि मांसाहारी खवैय्यांना आवडतील अशा या आगळ्या वेगळ्या नावांच्या कृती. रानडे यांची प्रस्तावनाही संग्राह्य.

I started the process to purchase Nalpakdarpan -- where , 10% discount and free handling is mentioned but at the end , they are showing 20rs handling and Rs50/- cash handling, which is really strange , you guys should mention it properly that book costs Rs250/- where as you wrote Rs 180/-

First and foremost the book is the translation of book written by Shri Vamcharan Sharma, which is not mentioned on the cover. Recipes are supposed to be four thousand years old but contain chillies as condiment. Chillies came to India four hundred years ago. Recipes are like summery and do not mention specific condiments. Various places it only mentions add other spices - which does not make sense - as no where it is given as to what are those spices. The book only makes interesting reading and nothing else. Waste of money.
