पानिपत युद्धाची झळ प्रामुख्याने गोर-गरीबांना कशी पोहोचली व सत्ताधारी पेशव्यांचे निर्णय दूरगामी कसे नव्हते. याचे परखड व तर्कशुद्ध विश्लेषण या कादंबरीत पहायला मिळाले. एक नितांत सुंदर कादंबरी आहे. स्टार्ट टू एन्ड खिळवून ठेवते. लेखकाने मराठी कादंबरीच्या अगम्य पसार्‍यात एक मोलाची भर घातलेली आहे. जी वर्षानुवर्षे स्वतःच्या तेजाने वाचकांना कायम आकर्षित करेन.
पानिपत युद्धाचा सर्व-सामान्यांच्या नजरेतून घेतलेला मला वाटते हा एकमेव प्रयत्न असावा. लेखकाच्या या कलाकृतीची दखल भविष्यातही आदराने घेतली जाईल.

A touching novel culminating in the tragedy of the third battle of Panipat, narrated from the point of view of a Dalit family. I read this book mostly out of interest for the battle itself, and this book brought to life several perspectives which are not usually covered in historical treatments of the subject of Panipat 1761. The final tumult, where Bhimnak tries to rescue the severely wounded Bhau, is very poignantly portrayed, as is much of the rest of the book.
