' Aayam ' is group of Women in media in pune. Our group is a part of the Network of Women in Media, India (NWMI) which is an all India women journalists forum. We are the Pune chapter for it.


Last year, we decided to come out with a Marathi magazine called Aayam (dimension). The magazine bagged a couple of awards last year. When the talk of this year magazine came about, it struck us that today’s generation of Maharashtrians are global and few of them know how to read or write Marathi. Hence we decided to deviate from the tradition and come out with an English magazine. we took up the challenge.

We were looking at a mix of articles which would cater to the tastes of everybody, be it young or old. It also had to be current. We started off with sections such as travel, IT, bollywood, photography, artists etc.

The list of people who have been interviewed include Anand Deshpande (Founder of Persistent), Arvind Gupta (who makes toys out of scrap), Ganesh Natarajan (Zensar), Pramod Chaudhari (Praj Industries), Alpana Kirloskar (architect), Sheetal Iyer (First Indian tennis women referee), Nitin Desai (ND Films), Madhura Jasraj (Wife of Pt. Jasraj and a musician in her own right), Bhaskar Hande (Artist), Ravi Gadre (caricature artist), Swapna Pawaskar (photographer)......
