Summary of the Book
India's Legal System: Can it be Saved?, published in 2006, is a book that analysis India’s judicial system. The author himself is a jurist and advocate and has seen the workings of the system. After the United States, India has the highest number of practising lawyers. However, the perception of the public about the judiciary is not always positive. Cases drag on for decades in courts and justice is delayed, if not denied. The common Indian faces extreme difficulties if he/she ever gets involved in a court case. The author thinks that it is high time that factors which are responsible for such a sorry state of affairs need to be identified and corrected.
