Ravi, a UK educated engineer living abroad nearly 60 years has been exhibiting his love for Marathi language and the community with his equally qualified and professional life partner Meena for several years. The couple despite their busy schedule maintained a Marathi Cultural Radio Program at their own costs for the benefit of the community. Now they have come out with a such wonderful book for Marathi readers. The book subject is interesting and Ravi’s writing style is easy to follow without talking down to the reader. Dr. Gatane has maintained the translation flow so well that the creation appears very seamless. The story talks about the struggle of three qualified, competent and sincere black ladies working in one of the prestigious and high profile government institutions. The book expanded my understanding of systemic racism, white privilege, and the long legacies of slavery and white supremacy in American history. Dorothy, Catherine, Mary not only struggled to make impressions on the earth but created a legacy in the space despite being pushed back beyond imagination. Their tenacity, resilience and standing up for values without losing the confidence is beyond inspirational for the underprivileged. Inclusion of graphics makes this book more appealing to a reader and enhances the depth. These three black ladies created an history in space engineering, mathematics, while standing up against numerous odds and established role models for all. This books is a must read for every Marathi nonfiction lover and could benefit a wide spectrum of readers if published in other Indian languages. An Ecopy of such a well researched and well crafted book will certainly be well received by the majority of modern readers.

An awesome inspirational book and well developed storyline keeps the reader engrossed. The books displays the command of the author on the subject matter and competence in engineering field too. It is a must have book for every library. I would love to see the book in English for wider group of readers.
