Summary of the Book
With VCD.

Man need not search for God, but for himself. When a person finds this search meaningless, he is told to search for God. People find it foolish to search for themselves; hence they (who are in the search of truth) say, “Let us search for God Who has created this universe.” This sounds like a great goal to these people. First they used to think, “What’s the use in searching for ourselves? There should be something unique and precious to search for.” They thought this way because they considered themselves to be the body. Thus they began their search in ignorance.
The meaning of the search for God and for oneself is one and the same. One reaches God while one is searching for oneself; or while searching for God, one finds oneself. It is the same thing. When one is on this journey of discovery, one finds oneself and God at the same time.
Children learn by asking questions as they grow. They want to know about all the events, people and things they come across in their lives. But as they grow, these questions start reducing. Eventually, a time comes when they stop their investigations altogether. Forgetting the importance of inquiry, they become used to living with unresolved questions. Then a master or Guru comes into their lives, and once again they begin asking questions about life, God and the things happening in their lives. Many suppressed questions start coming forth. The master starts unraveling the mysteries of life, and hence they naturally begin to search for the truth (God). One needs to keep in mind that one should ask questions with honesty; one should not hide anything from the Guru. Only with such transparency can one derive the full benefit of the Guru’s teachings. Even the smallest question one withholds from the Guru may hamper one’s spiritual journey. One needs to work on the directives given by the Guru. Then one finds that the knot of problems in one’s life starts to untangle and one gets progressively closer to the truth or God.
